1. Situation overview

The cement concrete pavement, especially around the 450mm inspection chamber, is subjected to vehicles driving, and bears more impact force, and is often the first to be damaged, which can easily cause the vehicle to jump, affecting the comfort and safety of driving, and also affecting the chamber circle and chamber wall. The connection affects the firmness and stability of the chamber and the chamber ring on the plastic inspection chamber, and makes it easy for the soil and debris on the ground to fall into the 450mm inspection chamber. 2. Cause Analysis

According to the author's careful observation and analysis, there are mainly the following reasons for the above situation.

2.1. Check the installation of manhole covers and manhole rings. Under the action of various forces of the car, the pavement will produce different sizes of compressive stress, tensile stress and shear stress in its structure. If these forces exceed the overall structure of the pavement structure or the strength of a certain component, the pavement will suffer damage such as fracture, subsidence, waves and wear. If the manhole cover is installed too high or too low, the chamber frame and well seat are vulnerable to the large impact force of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to jump, and increasing the various stresses on the cement concrete slab around the chamber cover. When the value exceeds the strength of the concrete pavement , the part of the concrete pavement will be destroyed. First of all, cracks are generated at the corners of the boards that vehicles often pass by, and quickly develop into criss-cross cracks, and in severe cases, develop into broken cracks, and even fall off into potholes. Once potholes are formed, the water on the road surface will penetrate into the base layer, so that the humidity of the roadbed will increase, and its plastic deformation will continue to accumulate and increase. Excessive plastic deformation will cause the bottom of the slab to lose its support, and the rigidity, strength and stability of the road surface will be damaged, so that the concrete pavement will be further damaged, the pothole area will increase, and the well chamber will be subjected to greater impact force from the vehicle, making the well cover and well frame very vulnerable to damage, which may cause it to move and dislocate or the well cover will rupture, or the well chamber will be damaged. 

In this way, the soil and sundries on the ground can easily fall into the 450mm inspection chamber. Since the bottom of the 450mm inspection chamber is not checked and excavated for impurities frequently, excessive impurities are deposited in the launder, which makes it difficult for the drainage pipes to run normally, and even cause pipe blockage.


2.2. Backfill and roll around the well chamber of the inspection chamber in drainage system

Sometimes in order to catch up with the construction period, the backfill soil does not reach the optimum water content, which is very easy to cause the formation of spring soil or a sudden change in settlement, and because the road roller is limited by the 450mm inspection chamber on the ground, it is difficult to roll the fill soil close to the well chamber in place. Thus there is a "dead angle" of rolling. In this way, the density of the backfill soil around the well chamber cannot meet the construction specification requirements, which can easily cause uneven settlement or collapse of the backfill soil around the 450mm inspection chamber, which will affect the cracks or collapse of the cement concrete slab, resulting in damage to the pavement slab and pipeline drainage. , affecting its normal and usable functions.

2.3. Inspection well masonry and other processes caused. During the construction, due to poor management or the workers who built the 450mm inspection chambers did not have the technology of municipal engineering construction, and did not accept the education and disclosure of the construction technicians, the 450mm inspection chambers built in this way often did not meet the requirements of the construction specifications, and their integrity and firmness And the stability and appearance size are poor, especially the foundation of the 450mm inspection chamber is not constructed according to the specification requirements, which may lead to the collapse of the well chamber in severe cases, resulting in the collapse of the road surface and blockage of drainage.

3. Prevention and control measures

1. In order to catch up with the construction period, the filler should choose materials with high strength, fast compaction and good water permeability, such as pebbles, crushed stones, and medium-coarse sand. 3. In order to avoid defects such as the integrity, firmness, stability and appearance of the inspection 450mm inspection chamber due to unskilled workers, the on-site technicians must strengthen the technical disclosure and education of the workers so that they can master the correct masonry process and construction Process and realize the importance of installing manhole covers and 450mm inspection chamber rings in terms of structural quality and use functions, and at the same time pay clear quality standards and technical points.
