2.1 Pipe trench excavation

(1) It is better to excavate the trench in a straight line, and the excavation width of the trench bottom: when the nominal outer diameter dn ≤ 400mm, the width of the trench bottom ≥ dn+300mm; when the nominal outer diameter is 400mm<dn ≤ 630mm, the width of the trench bottom ≥ dn+ 450mm. 2.2.4 Hot melt butt joint

Clamp the pipe or fitting on the butt welder, clean the pipe or fitting end, check that the butt welder matches the pipe diameter and specified butt joint, move the movable clamp, and plan the pipe end against the milling cutter. The approach pressure should be sufficient to produce a stable sheet on both sides of the milling cutter. Planing is complete when the hdpe water pipe or fitting ends are flat and parallel to each other. Reduce pressure and keep milling cutter turning to avoid burring of pipe and fittings. Check the heating tool, the polyethylene residue on the heating tool should be scraped off with a wooden scraper; check whether the temperature of the heating tool is correct; place the heating tool between the end faces of the pipe, make the pipe on the butt welding machine close to the heating tool and apply a certain pressure , until the melted flanging reaches the specified width; reduce the pressure so that the end face of the pipe and the heating tool just maintain contact; after the heat absorption time is reached, move the movable clamp of the butt welding machine backward and remove the heating tool. 

Quickly inspect the heated pipe ends to determine if the molten end faces were damaged during the movement of the heating tool, then move the butt welder movable grips again to bring the pipe ends into contact. During the whole butt joint process and the subsequent cooling process, the butt welding machine should maintain a certain pressure (attention should be paid to the cooling process, the quality of the cooling directly affects the product quality). After the butt welding and cooling time is reached, depressurize the butt welder to zero pressure. When moving the tubing, avoid bumping the weld.

 During hot melt welding, special attention should be paid to the control of curling, pressure and welding time, and the operation should be strictly in accordance with the specified parameters.
