With the expansion of the application of plastic pipes, the varieties of plastic pipes are also increasing. Now in addition to ordinary PVC and polyethylene pipes, there are also: PVC core foam pipes, PVC, PE double-wall corrugated pipes, aluminum-plastic composite pipes, Cross-linked PE pipe, plastic-steel composite pipe, polyethylene silicon core pipe, etc.
The connection methods of plastic pipes are: mechanical connection, hot-melt socket fusion, hot-melt butt fusion, and spot welding. Among them, hot melt butt fusion and spot welding are the main connection methods for plastic pipes.
Hot Melt Socket Fusion
During hot-melt welding, the inner and outer annular surfaces of the heating tool are used to heat the corresponding outer and inner annular surfaces of the plastic pipes and fittings to be welded, respectively, to melt them, quickly pull out the heating tool, and then quickly insert the pipe material Pipe fittings, and apply a certain amount of force to achieve the purpose of welding after cooling. Generally, hot melt socket fusion is suitable for engineering diameter less than 125mm.
Hot Melt Butt Fusion
Hot-melt butt fusion is to use a hot-melt butt fusion machine to heat the welded end faces of two pipes (which must be cleaned or milled before welding) to a certain temperature, when they are melted, they are quickly attached, and a certain pressure is applied until cooling, This welds the two pipes together.
According to the contact method between the welding machine heating plate and the welded pipe, it can be divided into two methods: contact heating and infrared radiation heating. When welded according to the proper process, the tensile force and bearing pressure of the Hankou part are equal to or stronger than the pipe itself. Hot melt butt fusion is suitable for welding plastic pipes with a diameter greater than 90mm. It should be noted that it is strictly forbidden to be impacted by external force during the welding process until fully cooled, nor can any method be used for forced cooling.
Electrofusion Welding
The electric fusion welding of plastic pipes is to use the electric heating wire on the inner surface of the electric fusion pipe fittings to be heated by electricity, so that the inner surface of the pipe fittings and the outer surface of the pipes are melted. together, and then cooled to the required time to achieve the purpose of welding.
The welding area should also be cleaned or scraped before welding, mainly to remove the oxide layer of 0.1 to 0.3 mm, and appropriate welding parameters should be selected according to the material, that is, the heating time and heating voltage or current should be controlled to ensure that the temperature and pressure of the molten plastic reach appropriate values. , and then obtain high-quality plastic welded joints.
